Outdoor games for girls can be interchanged with the outdoor games for boys section. It just seems more girls enjoy these games instead of boys.
Hop Scotch
There are a number of ways to set up a hopscotch game outdoors. Find a level surface and draw the diagram shown on the page. Each box can be as big or small as you'd like depending on your skill level. Draw another line a few feet from the bottom of the diagram. Number each box as shown. You will need a smooth rock that can be thrown onto the squares. To start the game, stand behind the line and throw the stone onto square 1. Hop over the stone onto square 2 and continue to hop to square 3. Jump with both feet onto squares 4 and 5, hop onto square 6 and jump with both feet onto squares 7 and 8. To come back the other way, jump and turn at the same time and retrace your steps. When you reach square 2, stand on one foot and bend down to pick up the stone. Return to the line. Continue the game by throwing your stone onto square 2 and repeating the hopping, jumping, and turning. You lose your turn when you miss the square with your stone or when you step on or over the line. Leave your stone in the square to be repeated if you're playing with friends. Try to complete the path through the hopscotch from square 1 to square 8 and back again.
Outdoor Games for Girls Tomato TV Tag
This is also a game that can be played indoors or outdoors. It's not so much about who wins and it is about laughing and having fun. A person is designated IT and must sit in the center of the circle. The object of the game for this person is to NOT laugh! Everyone else will take turns asking the person IT questions and the answer can ONLY be tomato. So the people asking the questions want to ask something where the answer Tomato will be funny to make the person IT laugh. "What did you eat for breakfast?" "What's your favorite color?" "What would you rather be doing?" I'm sure you can think of something better!
This outdoor game must be played outside so that the kids have enough room to run around. Its a simple variation to the game Tag. One person is designated IT and must chase everyone and try to tag them. If someone is tagged they must freeze until someone else "unfreezes" them by tagging them. Once they unfreeze the person they must yell out the name of a TV show. No one is allowed to repeat a TV show and if they do they automatically become IT. If they can't think of a show then they remain frozen until they do!
